Jackie Robinson was one of my very first heroes so I am proud to have him here on my first posting. In case you can’t read the text it says…”A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”

Let me first share a bit about myself. I am the father of four very special beings and a brand new very proud grandfather.

My newest hero and first grandaughter Layla at 3 months. Her mom is one of my heroes as well, as are all my kids.

I spent over 25 years in France, where I worked as a fashion photographer until I returned to the states and experienced some personal challenges that led to a very different life.

I was living in Santa Fe at the time and they have a saying there…”Do you know how you make God laugh?…..Tell Him your plans.” I am now much more concerned in knowing what God’s plans might be for me than in letting my ego dictate where I should go or what I should do.

I founded and now run a non profit organization dedicated to promoting the teachings of my teacher, Sidi Shayhk Mohammad Al Jamal Ar Rifai, the head of the higher Sufi Council in Jerusalem and the Middle East, and helping him as he travels to many communities through out the U.S. as he helps people heal from emotional, physical and spiritual challenges.

This photo was taken on one of Sidi’s first trips to this country. He has been a consistent presence in this country for over a decade now, and had published over a dozen books. You can learn more about him at www.sufimaster.org

I also made a two part documentary about him called “THE TRUTH OF A SUFI.”

Last year I have published a book about how I met him when he was what is known as a “hidden teacher” called “MY JOURNEY TO KNOW THE TRUTH” with the subtitle “Healing the Broken Heart.” You can order this book through Amazon or at www.healingthebrokenheart.com. You can also download this book as an ebook at that site. All of the proceeds from the sale of this book goes to the poor.

I also teach and mentor people how to build a home based business and have a website focused on this activity. Just go to the mirror and look at yourself

And see what THAT face has to say

The person whose verdict counts most in your life

Is the one looking back from the glass

Some people might think you’re a straight-shooting chum

And call you a great gal or guy

But the face in the glass says you’re only a bum

If you can’t look him straight in the eye

That’s the one you must please

Never mind all the rest

That’s the one with you clear to the end

And you know you have passed your most dangerous, difficult test

If the face in the glass is your friend

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years

And get pats on your back as you pass

But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
